I was trying my hardest and it wasn’t working."

That day.

"When he jumped, it proved that I couldn’t handle him. "

That particular day.

"That spook wasn’t very scary; it was very humiliating. It was me failing to excel.."

That day.

".. and blaming myself."

THE FOLLOW UP TO THAT BETTER BE "THAT DAY" OR IMMA GONNA GO KICK YOU IN YOUR SHINS. You're too cool to beat up on yourself like that for too long.

We all suck in the saddle some days. Other days we're like Alec Ramsey on the Black, or those horrible little kids in the old Misty of Chincoteague movie that are, like, 4 years old and can ride a horse better than I'll ever be able to do.

I guess I just wanted to make sure that you were only beating yourself up on that day, and not actually judging your abilities by one crappy day - mostly because I could see myself doing that, and it's really easy for me to see the folly in someone else's self-flagellation. I've only seen you ride the once, but I remember liking the easy way you sat Blue.

I cry when I get mad, too. I have vivid memories of being bullied, and being so angry I started crying, and the bullies thinking they "won" because they made me sad and I was too choked up with hatred to be able to say anything.. It's such a stupid emotional response. I wish I could do something even slightly more productive, like bleed from the eyeballs like a horneytoad, or anything. Inspirational YouTube video about an animal overcoming adversity? You'd better believe it. Overwrought, underwritten post-apocalyptic YA fiction.... the list goes on.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03564676836023211208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4171276409343367393.post-42710216641117914702015-09-16T17:35:03.063-07:002015-09-16T17:35:03.063-07:00all that. what you said. say it to your teacher. s...all that. what you said. say it to your teacher. she will get it.

it doesn't need to be a crying sport.
